About us

Paya Thai Cooking is a small business based in New Malden in Surrey.  It was set up by me, Jirapan, when I moved to England from the island of Koh Phangan in Thailand. 

I have always had a passion for Thai food, largely due to my family.  The name 'Paya' or 'Auntie Ya' is actually my mum's Thai nickname as she is known by all the local kids, so this is very meaningful for me.  She was my first inspiration for Thai food and continues to turn out amazing Thai dishes.  She is never happier than when a few unexpected guests arrive to enjoy her food! 

Food and Thai culture go hand in hand.  When people meet in my home town, they don't ask "how are you?", but instead ask "have you eaten yet?"!

Through Paya Thai Cooking I hope to share my love and passion for Thai food, offering modern and stylish Thai catering, and simple, fun and friendly cooking classes.
